Excellence Through Stewardship (ETS) is starting the year by welcoming a new member company! Pannar Seed is joining more than 25 globally respected companies and research groups involved in agricultural biotechnology that are strengthening their stewardship and quality management systems by joining ETS and implementing the program.

Founded in 1958, PANNAR is a South Africa based seed business with a proud tradition of fine products and rapid and continuous growth. PANNAR initiated its plant breeding activities in 1960 and in 1967 became the first private seed company to register its own corn hybrids in South Africa. They have since expanded into other crops including, sunflower, soybeans, dry beans, wheat, grain sorghum, and forage crops. Their extensive research activities have resulted in high-yielding products that are well adapted to the growing conditions and cultivation practices of South Africa as well as many other African countries. PANNAR is one of the largest seed companies in Africa with its own business units in nine African countries, including South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania and Kenya. Its products are also sold in other African countries through a broad network of agents and distributors. Improved genetics and cutting-edge technology is key to the ongoing success of a seed company in today's competitive world and this is the cornerstone of its partnership with DuPont Pioneer that commenced in 2013.

We are excited to welcome PANNAR as a member and look forward to their contributions to our organization and the ETS program.
