How to Join

Our Mission:

To promote the responsible management of plant biotechnology, primarily by developing and encouraging implementation of product stewardship practices and by educating the public about those practices.

Excellence Through Stewardship offers two types of membership:

Regular Membership

Qualifications
Any corporation, business, or academic or governmental organization that utilizes plant biotechnology in the research, development or manufacture of plant biotechnology products is qualified to apply for regular ETS membership.

Application Procedures
Those interested in joining as Regular Members need to prepare and submit to the ETS Executive Director the ETS Regular Membership Application Form and the ETS Regular Membership Information Form. On the Application Form, the applicant affirms that it fully supports the ETS mission statement and that it adopts and will abide by the ETS "Stewardship Objectives, Principles and Management Practices" as detailed in the ETS Program Charter. On the Information Form, we ask that perspective members identify the types of activities it undertakes that will be subject to the Global Stewardship Audit Program, i.e., its "auditable operations." Associate Membership

Qualifications
Associate memberships are available for any not-for-profit organization, academic institution, government entity or individual that supports plant biotechnology and the Excellence Through Stewardship mission, but is not directly involved in research, development, or manufacture of plant biotechnology products. While eligible to sit on the ETS Education and Outreach and Program Development and Operations Committees, Associate Members do not maintain voting rights.

Application Procedures
Organization interested in joining ETS as an Associate Member can submit the ETS Associate Membership Application Form to the ETS Executive Director. On the application form, the applicant affirms that it fully supports the ETS mission statement.
